If you want to substantially extend the life of your natural soap, and i think we all do, you should keep it on a well-draining soap dish so it remains dry between uses. By “well-draining” I mean something that allows excess water to filter through it, not pool up in an tiny soap-devouring puddle. You see natural soaps are most often made with nutritious vegetable oils that do wonders for our skin, but usually make for a “softer” bar. This is without a doubt a winning trade off when it comes to the health benefits you enjoy by choosing natural soap, as harder bars can be drying and harsh. You simply need to take care of your soap, ensuring maximum use and enjoyment. I recommend a soap dish that either has spaced out slats or tiny holes in the bottom to safely rest your soap on. Pictured above is a beautiful example, an artisan-made soap dish found at canvas, of NYC.
