I believe that using eco-friendly packaging whenever possible is incredibly important. It drives me nuts to see other companies splash the words “natural” and “green” all over their products and then not make the slightest effort to package these products responsibly. Now, I don’t expect everyone to share my enthusiasm for protecting our planet, but a little honesty and integrity seems reasonable.
When i create LNNYC products, packaging is not an afterthought. I make a conscious effort to be as honest and eco-friendly as possible. All of our soaps are wrapped in 100% cotton, then covered with labels printed on recycled paper with soy inks. Our lip balm and scrubs are packaged in recyclable plastic containers (i don’t think glass is safe for bath products), our salves are packaged in recyclable/reusable metal tins, and our soy candles are packaged in glass jars within 100% recycled kraft tubes, both to be reused or recycled. All LNNYC gift boxes are packaged in recycled/recyclable kraft boxes, and all shipping supplies are either recycled or recyclable. I want people to know, and feel good about what they’re buying.
To me, a commitment to making natural products includes the inside and out.
